==== Brief introduction to the Passenger Station ====

       Through many years of development, especially through the expansion and renovation projects during the 8th Five-Year-Plan period, the station has become the largest one in the inland area with its complete function and advanced facilities. At present, the station owns 16 docks along its 1.5-kilometer-long river banks, among which there are 8 passenger docks with its handling capacity of 3,000 tons. It possesses 4 passenger cable cars and 4 freight cable cars, besides， the station has 18 berths, 40 pontoons and a 5,500m² warehouse. The newly built Passenger Hall is 3,000m². 

       In keeping  with the deepening of the reform and the development of transportation, the handling capacity of the station had been improved and its service function had been strengthened. Now, the station has shifted passenger transport into  through transport by land and water, integrated  with tourism, trade, consigning and storage.  The station also possesses the sole agency upon 190 passenger ships and 44 shipping companies among which there are 21 ones concerning foreign affairs, it had accounted for 92％ of the whole shipping companies in the upper reaches of Yangtze River. It also owns the agency upon 13 bus companies and acts as a consigning agent upon several Cargo Lines such as Yuchang, Yuyi, Yuhan, Yushen etc.  In 1999, the station achieved an operation income of 30.42 million RMB yuan and contributed 13.28 million RMB yuan to the government revenue by way of tax.

       The Freight Transport Company, Tourism Company, Barge & Pontoon Team, and the Service Company are all come within the jurisdiction of the Passenger Station with its whole staffs of 755 persons.

       With the operation purpose of best quality, high efficiency and customers above all, the station adheres to the principle of quality first, prestige first and had passed the ISO9002 authentication in 1997. For 16 years, the station owned the title of "Civilized Unit" issued by the Ministry of Transportation. In 1999, the station was named the national "Advanced Unit in the Construction of Spiritual Civilization" by the Central Government, and also owned the title of "Top Ten Unit in the Construction of Professional Ethics" in Chongqing.

       Assessed by Chongqing  Audit Office, the purchase price of the station should be 160,107,300 RMB yuan, after the purchasing, the limited company would increase its business income upon to 40 million RMB yuan, and make a profits of about 19 million RMB yuan, the investment payback time is 7.43 years.
