Planning Committee in the late sixties and put into operation
in the early seventies, Lanjiatuo Branch (the former Lanjiatuo
Terminal) was designed to serve as a multi-functional pivot
port in the upper Yangtze River. Very near to the Eco.&Tech
Zone in Jiangjin., the terminal possesses unique favorable
geographical position. It links Yangtze River on one hand
and has a connection with ChengYu Highway and ChuanQian
Road on the other. In addition, the port railway meets with
ChengYu railway at Gujiatuo station. In fact, after twenty
years' development, Lanjiatuo Branch has firmly established
itself as a relatively large water-land through traffic
hub, which is regarded as the most important terminal in
Jiangjin and assumes most traffic flow load from the outskirts
of Chongqing Port.
With proper layout,
clean environment, and excellent water and land conditions,
the terminal can be used to berth over 3,000 tons vessels
perennially. It looks broad and plain in its land region.
Many a road here extends its way in all directions. Consequently,
it is definitely regarded as an ideal terminal for through
traffic transfer.
With a designed
traffic capacity of 1,020,000 tons and an authenticated
traffic capacity of 860,000 tons, Lanjiatuo Branch is capable
of transferring and warehousing piece cargo, bulk cargo,
and heavy-lift cargo with each piece within 15 tons, which
can be consequently directed to all over the country. Summarily,
the child company owns approximately total capital 70,000,000
Yuan, four wharves, a railway group, two steamer, and over
80 various large-or-middle scale load-unloading machines.
With a sheltered warehouse 13,200m2, open paved
marshaling and storage area of 43,800m2. It set
a record in June 1993 by marshalling and storing 227,000
tons iron ore and 65,000 tons other goods at a time.
